College bill up $90,000

The Lincoln College Council expects to pay $90,000 more for heating, lighting, and cleaning of its buildings this year than last year. The increased cost of coal accounts for much of the 20 per cent rise in costs.

The principal of the college (Professor J. D. Stewart) said that the cost of coal had doubled in the last six months. The university would have to absorb the increase, because the block grant was a fixed amount given five yearly, and had three years to run.

The Bums wing was now fully occupied by the college, and teaching departments there and in the Hilgendorf wing had been moved, to ease congestion.
