PA Wellington The Leader of the Opposition (Mr Rowling) said today that he expected tonight’s Budget to be in line with “the attitude of retrenchment the Government had adopted to date ” Asked what form h° expected the Budget tn take. Mr Rowling told a press conference that “if it is in line with the actions and attitude being displayed at the moment, it’s likely to be of a retrenchment nature.” He said he would like to see the Budget restore the balance of purchasing power to offset the burden which had been placed on people with modest incomes. He also hoped there would be actton taken to revitalise the building industry.
