A.P.M. profit up 59.9 p.c.
PA Melbourne The group net profit of Australian Paper Manufacturers, Ltd. rose 59.9 cent to SAust 16.8 M in the year to June 30, but the directors said that profits would have to be substantially higher for the group to 'survive during times of high inflation. The profit increase was after a 62.4 per cent recovery to $6.9M in the six months to December 30. Sales of papers and paperboards rose 14 per cent to 627,000 tonnes, but was 12 per cent less than the 715,000 tonnes produced in the 197374 financial year. The profit was after providing SI.3M more for de preciation at $15.5M and $6.5M more for tax at $7 5M The annual dividend ha* been held at 10c a share (10 per cent), including a final payment of 6 per cent, and will require SIOSM com pared with‘s9.BM in 1974-7 S
