After sitting under urgency until 2.10 a.m. yesterday, the House sat again at 2.30 p.m. The Electoral Amendment Bill, a private measure sponsored by Mr J. L. Hunt (Lab., New Lynn), was read a first time.
Ministers answered 10 questions. Among papers tabled were: the General Election and by-election ra-
suits, the licensing poll returns. and the report of the Committee of Inquiry into Motor Spirits Distribution.
The adjourned second reading debate on the second reading of the Superannuation Schemes Bill was resumed under urgency during the evening, with the prospect of another late sitting.
