Comaneci again
NZPA Montreal Fourteen-year-old Nadia Comaneci, of Rumania, produced two more flawless Olympic gymnastic perform, ances yesterday. But her astonishing double was not enough to stop the Russian women capturing the team title for the seventh successive time.
The uniformly talented Soviet squad beat Rumania by 3.20 points with a total of 390.35. The East Germans were third with 385.10.
The evening of voluntary exercises was again dominated by Romania’s schoolgirl European champion, who on Sunday became the first female competitor in Olympic history to score the maximum 10 points on the individual apparatus.
