Badminton tour later
PA Wellington. China has told the New Zealand Government that its decision not to proceed with the badminton tour by a Chinese team should not affect bilateral relations or sports contacts. This was made clear by the Minister of Foreign Affairs (Mr Taiboys) in Parliament when answering questions by Mr D. M. J. Jones (Nat., Waitemata). The action taken to postpone the tour was limited to the duration of the period the All Blacks were in South Africa, Mr Taiboys indicated. The All China Sports Federation had said that China would be happy to send a badminton team to New Zealand at some other time, Mr Taiboys said.
