Jockey hurt
I PA Wanganui The jockey, W. Wilson, ' suffered a broken collar-bone l when he fell from Sea Cruise ] in the Kennels Hurdles at ■ Wanganui on Tuesday. Sea Cruise fell at the fence ■ near the 1000 metres while back in the running. Wilson was . taken to hospital for treatment. An amateur rider, Mr D. Dun- < can, was fined $4O after the run- ■ ing of the Mcßae Bracelet. , Mr Duncan, riding Oorskiet, was charged under rule 281 with having caused interference to Murray Gold near the 600 metres ; with resultant interference to Sir , Acorn and Cab Driver. After hearing relevant evi- i dence and viewing the film, the , committee found the charge > proven. The Waverley-owned Port Adam had to be destroyed after ’ the running of the Mcßae Bracelet. Port Adam stumbled and fell about 50 metres after the finish. The horse was found to have broken both forelegs.
