Ski lifts to be opened
Mr Arthur Dopplemayr, the managing director of Dopplemayr and Son, manufacturer of the new T-bar lifts to be opened at Mount Hutt on Sunday has arrived in Christchurch. Mr Dopplemayr, accompanied by his son, will attend the opening of the new lifts at the ski-field.
The company, based at Wolfurt in Austria, near the border with West Germany and Switzerland, installed its first lifts in New Zealand at Mount Hutt two years ago. There are now several throughout New Zealand, including five at Mount Hutt and three new ones opened at the Round Hill field, Lake Tekapo, this season.
