Alert in Uganda

NZPA-Reuter Nairobi .Ugandans were told yesterday that 30 “enemy aircraft,” believed to be Israeli or American, had been spotted on radar approaching their country from Kenya. The State radio dropped its regular programmes and began playing Hawaiian music. Two hours after the alert, attributed by the radio to a Ugandan military spokesman, there was no further news of the planes and the Hawaiian guitars were still strumming. Kenyans were puzzled by the announcement. Nairobi is only about 300 miles from Kampala and less than 200 miles from the border with Uganda.
