Most ves-j isels serviced at local ports! this year had carried only a' I few .small-scale charts, or obsolete charts. 1 Dr Finlay said he would be taking up with the Govern|ment the proposal made by | the “New Zealand Herald” lin an editoral, that sets of 'marine charts could be distributed free to inadequately equipped boats putting into I New Zealand ports. I “I think it is an admirable and challenging suggestion on which I hope the Government will be innovative enough to act,” he said.
