Three priceless Renais-|, sance paintings by Piero - Della Francesca and Raph- . ael, stolen 13 months ago in , what some experts described ■ as the art crime of the century, have been recovered in , Locarno, Switzerland. The pictures, valued at more than $7.70m, were seized by the police in a[ raid in one of Locarno’s top; hotels. The paintings are Piero I Della Francesca’s “The Flag-! ellation of Christ” and “The; Madonna of Senigallia” and Raphael’s “The Mute.” They were stolen from the Ducal Palace of Urbino, Central Italy, on February 6 last year.
