Drama of a soccer star
“Achilles Heel” is a twopart drama starring Martin Shaw as Dave Irwin and Charlotte Howard as his wife Mandy. Dave Irwin is a professional footballer, a £lBO,OOO soccer talent who, materially, has everything he wants. He is, however, beginning to feel the pressures of being a star and sees himself as being some sort of public property. Dave starts to have doubts about how long his fame can last and begins to wonder who he really is. The drama examines the problems of being a public figure when life begins to turn sour.
“Achilles Heel,” a London Weekend production, will be screened on TVI on Sunday night.
