Tennis titles to Otago sisters
The Robinson sisters of Otago won the major girls’ titles at the finals of the Ballins Easter junior tennis tournament at Wilding Park yesterday. Between them the Robinsons carried off the under 19 and under 17 singles and doubles championships. It was not without some difficiiity that the oldest girl, Kathleen, finished ahead of her rivals. Kathleen Robinson conceded the first set to Judy Verdeden, but dominated the next two. She then combined with Verdellen to win an even more strenuous game in the doubles. In the under 17 division, Gaye Robinson, also lost her opening set, to Ann Davidson, before taking complete command of the rest of the match.
