Australian school party visits
A party of 75 pupils and five teachers from the Sydney secondary school, Killamey Heights,' will arrive _in Christchurch today for a week-long visit to the South Island. It consists of two basketball teams — one each' of boys and girls — and a music group of 51 pupils. The visit is being hosted bv Mairehau High School, which made a similar visit to Australia last yfcar. The basketballers and musicians will travel together. The first basketball matches will be against Linwood High School tomorrow. "On Thursday, the teams will play Mairehau High School, which holds both the boys’ and girls' New Zealand titles. The party will visit Ashburton on Friday and Greymouth on Sunday be£or« returning to Christ, church. The basketballers will compete in a major secondary school basketball tournament in Cowles Stadium on the follow, ing Tuesday ant Wednesday. They Jvitj have their final matcheagainst Aranui Higl School on April 29 ant will return to Australis on May 2.
