Wayward cyclists and pedestrians

Sir, — Could you please tell me ken was the last time anyone i -s prosecuted for cycling -without a light, cycling on the fc tpath, or jaywalking? I see these things daily, the first while walking to work in the morning. As for cycling on the '—tpath. when coming home at 4.30 p.m. I have had many a near-collision with cyclists on the footpath. As for jaywalking, you have just to star. I at the lights for five minutes any time of the day. If these small misdemeanours go unchecked, they can lead to larger ones. I do not drive, but it is pretty obvious that the poor motorist is not always a ong. Give me the good old days when the

police and traffic officers used to say: “Move on please, and “Keep to the left.” — Yours, etc., G. W. A. SIMPSON. April 16, 1?76.
