Royal Mill, which scored so well * on the first day of the meeting, looks to have a strong chance of completing a double in the Tauherenikau Handicap, first leg of the T.A.B. double at Wairarapa today. Well placed behind the pace on Saturday Royal Mill proved too strong for the pacemaker Varnamo over the concluding stages and won by half a length. Three-year-old colt Fraxy could complete a double in the second leg of the Te Parae Three-Year-Old Handicap over 1600 m. Fraxy was most impressive on the first day against the open sprinters and in his first race for five weeks gave his rivals little hope over the final stages. The T.A.B. double on the second day of the Wairarapa Racing Club’s Easter meeting will be on the Tauheriuikau Handicap and the Te Parae Three-Year-old Stakes.
