Outsider in tennis upset

Anne Davidson provided two upsets in the Ballins Easter tournament run by the Canterbury Junior Lawn Tennis Association at Wilding Park. In the under 17 girls singles, Miss Davidson beat the third seed, Denise Peter, and then the top seed, Carolyn Oakley, in a semi-final. Miss Davidson will now meet Kay Robinson of Dunedin in the final today. Leading results from the tournament were:— BOYS Under 19 Singles. — Quarter-finals: S. Harley beat S. Haggerty, 6-3, 6-2; J.
