Stoke up campaign
The public spirit, engendered by the police "Speak Up” campaign, carried over into the fire service’s business last night. About 11 p.m. someone made a 111 call to the centra! fire station, to say that the gasworks was well alight. “So we sent the lot down,” said a fire service spokesman. It was nothing more than business as usual at the gasworks.
