VINTAGE CLUB’S GALA PROJECT
Readers of these pages will recall that Geraldine has a very active Vintage Machinery Club, with headquarters in the township. In the storm last August an old sawmill building used to accommodate some of its treasures received somthing of a buffeting and now the club is planning a gala display at Woodbury on Saturday. Anri! 24, and Sunday, April 25, to raise funds to rebuild accommodation for its machines.
One of the displays planned is of a history of harvesting from the sickle and the scythe to the modern auto header. There will also be tractors there ~o-ing ing back to the Mills and Sanderson 1913 model, horse drawn cultivators, ploughs, hay mowers, rakes and stationary engines. Chaff cutting is also planned. It is also proposed that vintage cars will drive up from Geraldine for the occasion.
