Museum loan appeal
A bigger public response to the $400,000 loan for the Canterbury Museum’s Antarctic Wing Appeal would be welcomed, said the chairof the Museum Trust Board man of the Museum Trust Board (Mr P. J. Skellerup). So far about $300,000 of the loan had been subscribed. This had come largely from a loan of $lOO,OOO from the Canterbury Savings Bank and a similar amount from Dominion Mutual Securities, together with public subscriptions. The total amount of the loan was underwritten, Mr Skellerup said and although the public response had not been great he had no doubt the loan would be filled.
