Actress puts family first
(N.Z.P.A. Staff Crspdt) LONDON.
The film actress, Charlotte Rampling, has announced a year away from the cameras because she and her husband, the New Zealander, Brian Southcombe, want another child.
Miss Rampling found international acclaim with her role opposite Dirk Bogarde in "The Night Porter.” She is in London to promote her new film, “Farewell My Lovely,” in which she plays a reformed call-girl who marries a judge. The 30-year-old star, who earns about £350,000 a picture, says box-office success will have to play second fiddle to babies for a while. She has been offered 10 films for the next year but has said no to all of them.
