Recession ending?
Britain’s recession is nearing its end and the economy should show firm growth next year, according to three econpmic surveys published in London. The stockbroker-, Phillips and Drew, forecast a four per cent growth rate for 1977 with wage rises of about 10 per cent. But it warned that the British living standard would continue to fall this year and employment would rise to one and a half million, or about seven per cent, by next winter. — London.
