Graduates join new institute
Graduates of a new pharmaceutical training course have become inaugural members of the New Zealand Institute of Medical Representatives. The Director General of Health, Dr H. J. H. Hiddle- ! stone, awarded certificates ■to nearly 60 people who had (completed the training course set up by the Pharmaceutical (Manufacturers’ Association. | The course includes study (of the industry, physiology, disease states, and basic ' pharmacology. Dr Hiddiestone praised the pharmaceutical industry for its move to provide training facilities within the industry. Officers of the newlyformed institute are: president, Mr K. D. Huse; secretary, Miss P. R. Hyams; councillors, G. N. Purdy, J. H. Lange, R. W. Martin, G. E. Carpenter, D. J. Jackman, and B. B. Weakley. Canterbury graduates of the course are: R. Bowie, A. J. Ebert, D. W. Firkin, J. Green, D. R. Lee, B. B. Weakely, E. C. Wilson, D. R. Woods, and Mrs A. Welch.
