Third tuna ship here
(N.Z. Press Association.) NELSON. The flagship of the StarKist Foods tuna-fishing fleet has arrived in Port Nelson from San Diego, California, and left to join the two other clippers already working off New Zealand. The ships are contracted by the New Zealand Pelagic Fisheries Development Company, and are here to help evaluate the commercial viability of a possible tuna canning operation in this country. For several weeks the, Michelangelo and the Kerri M have been working in an area about 25 miles north-north-east of Great Barrier Island, but bad weather is hampering their progress.
