N.Z. Open loses day
Press Association) AUCKLAND. The manager of the Benson and Hedges tennis tournament. Mr D. Moore, is unworried over losing all of yesterday’s play in the fixture. Heavy rain yesterday morning and a bad weather forecast forced a cancellation at 11.15 yesterday — the fifth day of the tournament “But we are right up to schedule — we’re up to thei semi-finals in al! five sections — so we can afford to lose a day,’’ he said. “What I don’t like losing is a day’s gate."
