'MISS BEACH RESORTS’
TAURANGA. An attack of influenza did not affect Linda Blake’s prize-winning smile when she won the "Miss New Zealand Beach Resorts 1976” title at Tauranga. She is 22. Linda, who lives in Tauranga. grew up on a farm near Te Awamutu. She and two of her sisters have been familiar figures at beach resort contests for a few years now. Earlier last week the youngest of the five sisters, six-year-old Tracey, had her own moment of glory when she wmn the- 20,000 Club’s "Miss Future Tauranga” title. Ten girls from other resort areas travelled to Tauranga for the "Miss New Zealand Beach Resorts” contest. Second place was awarded to Julie Bond, aged 17 (Miss Pauanui), a student from Auckland. “Miss Whangamata,” an 18-year-old training college student from Te Awamutu, was third.
