(“The Press" Special Service) I PALM. NORTH, Jan. 7 A ram from M. J. McLaren, (Ashburton) fetched top price of ’.56750 at the Manawatu and! Wairarapa Romney fair yesterday. It was purchased by Brown Brothers and the Bankhead Trust, of Feilding ! A syndicate of Robertson Brothers, E Ottrey and Carterhope Estate (Gorei paid $6200 for a ram from the Mereoak Stud iAshburton). Both the top-priced rams were placed in the Blue Ribbon class at the last Royal Show. Yesterday’s average for 67 rams sold at auction was S9BO compared with $634 for 62 Romney rams sold last year.
