ADDINGTON MARKET Brisk demand seen for store lambs
Store lambs met ai brisk inquiry from a large gallery of buyers at the Addington Market 'yesterday, and values {were fully in line with the good rates paid at the pre-Christmas sale.
The store sheep yarding, at I 14820, fell short of demand by) a considerable margin. It; (consisted of 3800 lambs and, i 1020 adult sheep. ' Corriedale and Down-cross; I lambs made up the bulk of! 'the store lamb offering. The sale opened with a pen of; ‘Corriedales fetching $7.05,! ■ and this proved to be the lowest point of the market; ■ for as bidding gained momenitum, most of the yarding sold; i regularly at $7.30 to $B.
Both Romney cross and Down-cross lambs bettered .$9; halfbred wether lambs soid to $8.65, and the “floor” price for the small lambs was a regular $6.
