e " e A traffic officer was injured e when he fell off his motor- ” cycle while chasing a speed- " ing car through the inter- " section of Fendalton Road e and Harper Avenue about 5 p.m. yesterday. At first it was thought to * have been a hit-and-run acci- ’’ dent and police and traffic \ officers in the city were ° alerted to keep watch for the offender. Within 15 minutes of the accident the motorist was found by the police. He de'f nied he had seen the traffic officer either following him or falling off his motor-cycle. n Traffic Officer RA. Walker e was not seriously injured u and after being treated at' r> Christchurch Hospital went r , home. The driver of the car was .. spoken to by a traffic officer j but no action has been taken l . as yet. It is thought the accident - may have been caused by the motor-cycle’s stand being ? loose.
