Canterbury fights back

Canterbury overcame an almost disastrous setback early in its innings to fight back magnificently into contention against Wellington when the national women’s cricket tournament began at Melville Park, Auckland, on Saturday. The shield holders, Wellington, lost two wickets for 18 runs, but the opener, Barbara Bevege, cemented the side together with a fighting ; 85, and Wellington scored 229 I for nine declared. ) Canterbury- made a bad ) start.
