P.L.O. man’s statement denied
fy Z. Press Assn —Copyright) PARIS, Dec. 28. The Palestine Liberation Organisation (P.L.0.) has disavowed a statement made at Pari? by its representative to L'.N.E-S.C.O. in which he said Israel and a future Palestinian State were bound to get along together eventually.
A statement sent by Mr Farouk Kaddoumi, political department thief — or '•foreign minister” of the P.L.O — to the newspaper, “Le Monde.” said that the group’s representative to U.N.E.5.C.0., Mr Ibrahim Souss, was not authorised to make political declarations in the movement’s name.
The original statement, made by Mr Souss 6n Wednesday, also to “Le Monde.” indicated that the P.L.O. was ready to recognise Israel it it were allowed to set up a Palestinian State on the occupied West Bank of the river Jordan and the Gaza Strip.
Mr Souss’s statement was believed to have had a deep impact in Israel, and French newspapers said that it reopened the debate in Israeli Government circles over the Palestinian question.
