<N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. Hutt Valley beat Hawke’s Bay by eight runs on the first innings of a Hawke Cup elimination match at Te Whiti Park, Upper Hutt, on Saturday. Fine batting by Richard Ellis, Wayne Greenstreet, and David O’Sullivan saw Hawke’s Bay recover to 212 after being 69 for five. The Hutt Valley spinner, George McConnell, took five for 80, and Hawke’s Bay was foiled when its tenthwicket batsman, Wayne Greenstreet, was run out by a fine throw from the boundary by John Topp.
