(Westpac) consortium (has decided to delay a final j decision on a Philippines i alumina plant because of the (depressed aluminium market, j the project manager, Comalco, Ltd, says. ■ However, Comalco will j undertake further detailed (studies on a financing plan. The participants have received reports from a group of investment and merchant, bankers, which said that the! project could be financed' from conventional sources, but it may be advantageous to investigate the use of Government-backed supplier credit arrangements from countries which could supply plant and equipment. I The companies at present! in the Westpac study group include Comalco, Conzinc, Riotinto of Australia, Ltd, Reynolds Metals Company’ and Kaiser Aluminium and; Chemical Corporation, plus I four Japanese and European’ companies.
