Injury ruins Olympic hopes
j r.V Z Press Association) NELSON. A groin injury has put paid to the Olympic chances of . the New Zealand crosscountry champion, John Dixon. The 28-year-old Nelson man has been unable to train for the last two weeks and will have to give the injury’ a complete break to heal. “Hopes of Montreal are fading rapidly.” said Dixon, i who had hoped to try for the : 10,000 metres. Dixon had been three months into his I build-up aimed at selection . for Montreal, but he has been . unable to train for the last •! two weeks.
