Alan Vest to return
The former New Brighton player-coach and New Zealand captain, Alan Vest, will return to this country before the start of the next soccer season. Vest left Brighton at the end of the 1974 season to become full-time coach with the Western Australian federation.
It is now reported that Vest will join the Northern League side, Manurewa, in January.
Brighton had its most successful season in the Rothmans National League with Vest in control, finishing third in 1974. Previously, he had been player-coach for three years with Gisborne City.
