TRIPLE PEELS
Two of the country’s most accomplished croquet players, Dennis Bulloch (Dunedin) and Roger Murfitt (Christchurch) performed the triple peel during the second day of the Canterbury senior and intermediate championships yesterday.
Playing together in the senior championship doubles, Bulloch triple-peeled his opponent out in the first match and Murfitt emulated his feat in their quarter-final encounter.
The first final decided was won bv the South Brighton pair, Mesdames R. K. Woodhead and R. Fraser, who beat their Hornby opponents, Mesdames J. Murfitt and J. Bonney, 26-15, in the second life of the intermediate championship doubles. Results from yesterday were:— Senior Championship singles. — First life: W. Penman 26, J. Flanagan 21. Second life: D.
