“Jesus Christ Superstar"
Sir,—ln “The Press” on September 30 Stacey Testro is quoted as saying that Mary Magdalene (whose role she is enjoying playing) committed suicide two weeks after Jesus’s crucifixion. I believe this statement to be not only unfounded but also totally out of character, as Mary saw and talked to Jesus three days after the crucifixion and reported doing so to his friends. So why should she want to commit suicide? For reference, see the account of this in the Bible, John’s Gospel, chapter 20—Yours, etc., STELLA PURCHAS. October 3, 1975.
