Search for new flora
The founder of the Cypress Gardens in Florida, Mr R. Pope, will visit Christchurch on October 14, as part of his trip through New Zealand to find new plants and flowers for the gardens. Mr Pope founded the gardens nearly 40 years ago, and they now draw more than a million visitors a year.
He will be accompanied by his wife, Mrs Julie Pope, and his director of horticulture, Mr B. Kundtz. After their visit to Australia and New Zealand, the group will go to Jakarta, Manila, and Singapore.
