Wilson squash favourite
Laurie Wilson, the little Christchurch club player, should win the major event at the Bumside C open squash tournament this weekend. Wilson has been given top seeding and is likely to be tested most by the Timaru Celtic player, Kennedy, the beaten finalist in the national division one championship this year. Most likely to surprise is John MacDonald, the irrepressible Sumner left-hander. He is unseeded for the tournament but should extend Wilson if he manages to get through to the third round. Seventy-two entries have been accepted and once again these had to be restricted because of the popularity of the tournament
