Red Student looks ready for sprint

Red Student and Te Pango Nui, form runners in the Beaumont Handicap, the second leg of the Otago Racing Club's T.A.B. double tomorrow, completed their preparation with attractive gallops at Wingatui yesterday. The work was held under ideal conditions on a firm track. Theirs was not the fastest gallop of the morning, but they were working well within themselves. Unlucky in Love, In the Red, Final Flutter. Dandyman and Prince Commander were not out for time in 54sec after taking 13.5 see for the opening 200 m. Winners on the first day of the meeting, both horses look improved from their races. Their time was equalled by Battling On. Keepers Gate, and Cromo which ran the last 600 m in 40.2 sec. Stillwater was easing up In this time after running the first 20Om in 13.2 sec. These times were equalled by Nashua. Myllndylu and Leyleigh ran a sound trial in 53.65ec, the last 600 m in 40sec. Bronze Filou and his stablemate Selector, were together in 53.45ec, tlie first 200 m in 12.4 see. Final Flutter showed that he had come to no harm from his winning effort on Saturday when he worked well alongside Willow Park in 52see after taking 13.6 sec for the first 200 m, Monona Bell drew away from her stablemate Wady Haste in 54.25ec. Trade Secret, Jungfrau, and Minolta worked well in line in

52.65ec. They ran out the last 600 m in the smart time of 39.2 sec. Morlight and Orpheus were on terms In 54sec, the last 600 m in 41see. ATTRACTIVE GALLOP The stablemates Samara, Doti ger, and Mellisten from Cliff Reese-Jones’s stable worked well over 1000 m in Imin 6sec the last 600 m in 40sec.
