Charlie Brown’s short pants, polo shirt, and painfully shy demeanor belie the fact that one of America’s most beloved comic strip characters was 25 years old yesterday.
Charlie Brown and his pint-sized pals — including his philosophical dog Snoopy—first appeared in a comic strip drawn on October 2. 1950, bv Charles Schulz, now a 52-year-old multi-millionaire. The comic strip now appears in 1655 newspapers, including “The Press.” Join Charlie and Snoonv on page 17.
