Grundy to be retired
'N.Z.P.A Reuter—Copyright! LONDON. Grund.', the winner of three: classics this season, will have no! more races, it was announced .yesterday. The three-year-old, owned by Dr Carlo Vittadini. was due to| ran in the Champion Stakes at | Newmarket on October 13 before: retiring to stud. But his trainer, Peter Walwyn, said that Grundv’s jockey, Pat; Eddery, had ridden the colt in 1 'exercise yesterday morning and while “the horse was in excellent health and entirely sound, he did not give him the same feeling as in the spring.” He added that as a result “it has been decided that Grundy will not run again.” Grundy’s three classic victories! were in the Irish 2000 Guineas,! the Epsom Derby and Irish' Derby.
