N.Z. market firmer trading quiet
The price trend was a little firmer on the New Zealand sharemarket yesterday; rises exceeded falls by more than two to one in very quiet trading. Tasman and South British rose 5c each, while N.Z. Forest and Wattie rose 3c. Midland fell sc, Transport Nelson 3c and M. O’Brien Ic. RISES FALLS

Overseas Emperor 120 10 Daily volume A total of 153,850 shares was sold on the New Zealand sharemarket yesterday, 82,050 fewer than on Tuesday. Industrial issues totalled 141,850 (Tuesday 217,700) and mining/oil 12,200 (Tuesday 18,200). A total of 87 New Zealand issues was traded.
