Sad end to golf work
The distinguished golfing iand administrative career of Miss E. M. B. Nutt came to 'a sad conclusion recently. Miss Nutt, the retiring president of the New Zealand Ladies’ Golf Union, was on her way to the Tasman Cup match and her final L.G.U. meeting when she broke a leg. The accident could not have happened any closer to Miss Nutt's departure: she was crossing the tarmac at Christchurch Airport to catch her aircraft at the time of the mishap. Miss Nutt spent 27 years as Canterbury’s delegate to the L.G.U. council and was previously a noted player. In more recent years, she has been non-playing captain of Canterbury and New Zeaand women’s teams.
