Hatch Cup hockey
(N.Z. Press Association: MASTERTON. It was a case of the boys emulating the men in the Hatch Cup national primary schoolboys hockey tournament in Masterton yesterday. Auckland won the cup by beating Canterbury 2-1 in the final. The national men’s tournament this season saw Auckland beating Canterbury in that final, too. Auckland beat Ashburton 4-1 and Canterbury beat Tajanaki 4-2 to reach the final. Non-playing South Island A anti B teams selected were:South Island A.-R. Baldwin (Otago), M. McAlpine (Nelson), M.
