Bomb kills two in London
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) LONDON. September 4. A bomb exploded at the exclusive Hilton Hotel in London today, killing two persons, the police said. The blast, which caused extensive damage to the hotel, came after a series of bomb attacks in London last week which have been linked with a breakaway group of the Irish Republican Army. A girl working at the hotel said, •There are loads of injured.” Rescue services reported two dead and at least seven injured, several of whom had limbs tom off in the blast.
Police said they feared there might be a second bomb nearby. They quickly cordoned off the area, while ambulances and fire engines rushed to the hotel In London’s plush Park Lane district Witnesses said that the blast had smashed through the front and side of the hotel, causing extensive damage.
