Teachers’ reports
Sir, — I note with plea-; sure the reply by the gen-, eral manager of the Educa-; tion Board to my letter, printed in today’s issue, con-, cerning teachers’ reports.: Unfortunately, from personal; experience I know that Mr Wilson is either out of touch with at least two schools in his area, or teachers are unaware of the procedure he sets out. In order to help correct at least one injustice caused, possibly by ignorance of the proper procedure. Mr Wilson
should: (1) circularise schools in his board area I informing teachers that no “comments concerning parents at present held in Teacher's report on a child 'changing schools; (2) instruct headmasters to inform parents that they may see their child’s report, and discuss this .f necessary, before it is forwarded to the child’s new school; (3) instruct that comments concerning parents, at present held in teachers’ reports be removed; (4) send a' copy of his instructions to all school committees. — Yours, etc. ANGERED PARENT. September 3, 1975.
