North B.H. finds more ore
(N.Z. Press Assn—Copyright/ MELBOURNE. North Broken Hill, Ltd, announced yesterday that its diamond drill hole No 2092 encountered 37.3 metres of high grade mineralisation, assaying 26.2 per cent lead, 21.2 per cent zinc, and 459 grams of silver a tonne.
This includes the assay announced on August 25, which was 19.7 per cent lead, 4 per cent zinc, and 330 grams of silver a tonne over 8 metres.
Hole 2092 is part of an exploration programme from the 36 level, 1540 metres below the surface. It entered lode horizon at 276.4 metres, entered high grade mineralisation at 302 metres and continued in high grade mineralisation to 339.3 metres — a high grade intersection of 37.3 metres, the directors said in a statement.
“The hole again entered lode horizon at 339.3 metres and has advanced a further 10.9 metres,” they said.
The intersection is in lease M.L. 44, near Broken Hill , was bought from the Broken Hill Proprietary Company, Ltd. in 1938. B.H.P. retains a half interest in any profits earned from working the lease.
