Late penalty a winner
iXZ. Press Association • WANGANUI. A penalty goal by Laurie Mains six minutes from time lifted Otago to a 16-13 victory over an unexpectedly tenacious Wanganui team at Spriggens Park, Wanganui, yesterday. Otago rallied strongly after being 3-9 down al halftime. Otago's points came from tries by John Colling and Tim Burcher and two penalty goals and a conversion by Mains. Barrell kicked three fine penalty goals for Wanganui and scored a try. taking his total for the season to 100 points.
