Reduction of thar
GV.Z. Press Association* WELLINGTON. Aug. 28. The Forest Service will act to lower the thar population on Lilybank station unless the station’s owners- cull the thar themselves. Speaking during the debate on the Forest Service Estimates . in Parliament today, the Minister of Forests (Mr Moyle) said that the Lilybank runholders had been told to reduce the thar population by 50 per cent by the end of this month. The latest report was that about 300 to 400 thar had been killed, and that the Forest Service would examine the situation at the end of this month.
